Storify Adds Livefyre – Gets More Awesome

By on Jan 3, 2012 12

The internet has transformed how people expect to communicate. People can share instantly with each other or the world and receive immediate feedback. Conversations start in seconds and evolve as friends and readers add their opinions. It’s one of the coolest parts about the web, this open free information flow and communication.

The web has also allowed for the most interesting, the most well informed, the most provocative, and the most prolific content creators to rise above legacy sources of information (newspapers, magazines, radio). Why? We empower them by reading and interacting.

That’s one of the reasons I love Storify so much. The way they allow anyone to create a story and aggregate elements of the story from social media and other sources (while citing them, of course) is a leap in both content delivery and ease of creation for user-generated-content.

And it just got more awesome.

Storify has partnered with Livefyre to allow users to add conversation to their stories.

It’s simple: all you have to do is go to your user settings and enable Livefyre within the “Labs” section.

Storify Settings

Click "settings" next to your username.

Click "Labs" on the left and check the Livefyre option to turn it on.

Try it out; let me know what you think. Oh and feel free to check out my story while you’re at it

Really neat social connection site here. Very clean and easily usable. More blog sites could use your attention to detail. Thank you for providing this awesome service!

Cool, glad to see. Hoping that next Blogger.com blogs can start using Livefyre, I hate commenting on the blogspot commenting system.

Dragon Blogger They won't let you just add the comment system in via "edit HTML"? That's how I used to have Disqus on my Blogger blog before they added in as a plug-in.

StarrWulfe No, you can't add it via edit html in a post editor, script's cant be loaded in post editor. However, you can manually add Livefyre code to any static page or blog. You can manually add it into your single.php or comments.php by using the custom code install option http://www.livefyre.com/install/ however unless you know what you are doing, you will want to install the Wordpress plugin because it must replace your existing comment system. If you just add it as a custom code it will be in addition to, instead of replacing Wordpress commenting.
